Heather is an educator with a background in Student Affairs and public speaking. Storytelling and writing has been a big part of Heather's life for quite some time. As a Black woman writing poetry, prose and essays drawn from lived experiences, Heather’s healing and solace reside within both her personal projects and published academic work. Heather's creative work focuses on the aspects of healing, self-care and growth as a Black woman through life's transitions. Her first self-published book, Watering Her Roots was an intimate process of engaging in unexamined pieces of her own story. Heather finds joy in beginning new books and journals, traveling and food blogging.
