All is Not Loss

By Jasmine Kelly

I am sure that you have heard it, if not seen it on social media. F**& 2020, 2020 is the worst, 2020 is not playing. Yes, I think that 2020 is doing a number on all of us. But, I refuse to throw in the towel. Even more so, I refuse to speak anything other than life.

I am not the most religious person, but I do have a relationship with God. Therefore, I do believe that life and death are in the power of the tongue. I am speaking life into 2020. You know, “what you think, you will be” type logic. While not even coming from a religious perspective, I am surprised at all the bad vibes that everyone is speaking to 2020. I am tired of hearing it. Yes! I am tired of hearing it!

Don’t get me wrong, I am on this planet too, better yet the United States. 2020 has been a doozy. When Kobe Bryant’s life tragically ended January 26, I was in total disbelief. And with Chadwick Boseman, I am speechless. The only difference that I can observe with 2020 is that we are all still enough to tune into what is happening. The question is, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to speak life into the rest of your year? Or are you going to accept things as is and go into 2021 (because we will get there) with no change?

I am not saying you have to go out and start a business, but I am asking you to salvage what is left and love it like it’s new. 2020 may be a hot mess, but it is yours.
