Being a human, your mood often changes. As a Black woman, I like to think of my mood changes in comparison to various types of shoes.
We have that time of the month when we are sometimes extremely frustrated, anti-social, or on a wave of being the most laid-back person to ever exist. We change. And that change is constant. There are four moods I often go through. Each mood directly related to how I feel when I am dressing my feet with footwear to match my aura. We switch up based on how we feel when we wake up, what events we will be involved in that day, who we may see, or what activities we engage in.
The list is endless on how one may feel at any given moment of the day. So I have listed just a few mood comparisons to some of my favorite shoe styles:
Flats – The go-to default. You always have that comfortable place that keeps you close to home in being centered in who you are. It is the root of where our personality is grounded.
Kitten Heels – We often sleep on kitten heels, y’all! The kitties represent wanting to stay centered around self but with a little lift. Just an inch or two above what grounds us is sometimes needed to navigate through certain situations.
Wedges – Confident but still humble. The mood of the all ye faithful wedge is a confidence booster. We radiate unapologetically. We are heightened and secure in this mood. We walk with our head up equipped with a shield of carelessness. We are in ready mode for whatever comes our way.
Stiletto – I’m untouchable. We have our standards and head high like a good ole’ nasty, sexy stiletto. We approach any and everything in fearlessness. Strutting a walk full of sexy tenacity catching attention we don’t even need. The stiletto mood represents all our boss traits.
Switching it up is always fun mentally. We have the freedom to choose who we are and how we interact. We can decide what we want to engage in and who we want in our space. The luxury of choosing your mood is an undervalued state. Don’t ever think that it’s uncool to choose who you wish to be each day.
I am a woman who loves variety. I like the ability to be able to change the things around me that I am capable of changing. To style up my life with a little spice. In a Purfect fashion of course. Consistency is a great thing but so is having options to choose your personality’s mechanics that build what makes you unique and authentic.
So change up your mood like footwear in your closet to perfectly fit the aura that fits you at the moment!
