Dear Diary,
What a time….what a time! Never thought I would see the day where we would be in this state of a pause in the world. The coronavirus. COVID-19. You came and have made quite a nasty disturbance in the land. Most stores are closed. No more than 10 people in a setting at a time. We are all wearing masks and gloves in public in fear of being the next infected. Churches are closed. Death toll increasing every day. At first, this seemed like a nightmare to lose your daily routine to be forced into a sudden change that was not expected.
The more I sat and thought about the condition we are in as a country, my mind magnetically gravitated towards the positive things. I was able to slow down from work and traveling to spending a whole month with family. Something I didn’t get to do often. I can spend more time in the presence of God to thank Him for what He’s brought me through. I have more leisure time to indulge with my creative side with writing and creating.
Now I know everyone may not be in the state of mind I am currently in. Everyone’s living arrangements are different. Students are forced to stay indoors and adjust to online learning. Parents are juggling work and homeschooling their children. People are worried about when and from where their next check will come. Doctors and nurses are working tirelessly to help humanity heal and recover.
I do hope that everyone does find some light to enjoy during this time. I hope this time brings families closer to give us a greater appreciation of the things we previously might have taken for granted. Whether it’s reconnecting with an old friend, getting closer to God, or exploring a talent, it all helps. Even if you are catching up on rest, that is ok. Allow yourself to recharge and re-energize.
Through all of this, I can’t help but think of how God is still intentional. He knew exactly when this would occur, and he knew the exact situation everyone would be in during this time. Blows my mind. It’s not exactly favorable to anyone, but I hope everyone can come out of this better in some way. I speak healing all over the land. I speak peace and I speak joy over everyone. I speak a change of heart of those discriminating against the less fortunate and against those who look different from you.
